How Daivaj reads a chart
What happens between entering a birth date and getting an answer — the ephemeris, the chart, and where the language comes from.
There are two very different things happening when you ask Daivaj a question, and it is worth knowing which is which.
The chart is computed, not generated
When you enter a birth date, time and place, the positions are calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris — the same astronomical library used by professional astronomy and astrology software. It is not an approximation and it is not produced by a language model.
From those positions Daivaj derives the things a Vedic reading needs: the rising sign, the twelve houses, planetary placements by sign and house, the divisional charts, and the Vimshottari dasha sequence that governs timing.
This part is deterministic. Two people entering the same birth moment get byte-identical charts, today and in ten years.
The reading is written, and it is told what it may claim
The chart is then handed to a language model along with your question. The model's job is to select from what the chart says and put it into plain language. It is given the computed positions as settled facts, and it is told not to invent placements, dates or dashas that are not in front of it.
This is the honest division of labour: the astrology is calculated, the explanation is written. Anyone claiming a language model is doing the astrology is describing something else.
Why answers have two halves
Every reply is in two parts. First a plain-language answer with no Sanskrit in it at all — what to do or expect, and when. Then, folded behind "Why", the technical reason: the house, dasha, transit or yoga carrying the answer.
The order is deliberate. A reader who has come with a real question deserves the answer before the terminology, and the terminology should still be there for anyone who wants to check the working.
What it will not do
It will not give you medical, legal or financial specifics — it gives the astrological indication and points you to a professional. It will not tell you what another person will freely choose. And where the chart is genuinely silent, it says so rather than filling the space.
